DNA Super Hero

YES!! YOU TOO CAN HELP UNLOCK MYSTERIES AND BECOME A DNA SUPER HERO!!

Many people do not realize that THEIR DNA can provide answers for missing persons cases worldwide. If you are the family member of a missing person, if you know you are a missing person, if you've had suspicions of your upbringing and could be a missing person, or if you just want to be part of the DNA action to see what mysteries you could unfold, you've come to the right place!

Police collected DNA in missing persons cases only becomes useful if there is an unidentified body or the missing person also happened to be a perpetrator or victim of a crime that would initiate their DNA being taken into the system (eg. rape).

BUT NOW DNA ON THESE CONSUMER WEBSITES HAVE BECOME THE "NEW PHONE BOOK" OF THE WORLD! AND EVERY PERSON CAN BE A DNA SUPER HERO by adding their DNA to the "phonebook"!! Anyone willing to buy and send in a consumer DNA kit provides an opportunity to possibly bring peace, closure and understanding for victims and families of victims in missing persons cases.

Thank you for being here!
You are AWESOME!

STEP 1: BUY DNA KITS

Buy an Ancestry.com and 23andMe.com DNA kit on their website or on Amazon, follow the super easy instructions: spit in a tube and send it into their lab with their prepaid mailing box.
(NOTE: we do not work for these companies or get paid in any way from them!)

STEP 2: DNA MATCHES

When you get your results back on either Ancestry and 23andMe (usually 3-5 weeks), if you see any DNA matches 200+ cM (centimorgans, the DNA unit of measurement to determine how closely related you are to someone), that you don't recognize, those could be possible descendants or relatives of a missing person.

One tip is to write everything you can see about any close matches ASAP - location, name, ethnic details, the family trees details if they have one - and avoid any initial contact until you have a plan on what you will say. Many people get spooked when they feel like they are part of something unknown.

If you find yourself needing help on interpreting any DNA matches, you may want to consider posting on CeCe Moore's DNA Detectives Facebook Group to solicit help from DNA Search Angels - these angel volunteers are selfless and amazing (and free!): https://www.facebook.com/groups/DNADetectives/

STEP 3: RAW DNA UPLOAD/DOWNLOAD
